Michael S. Kim is the managing director of the Southeast Region of Hudson Valuation Group. Mr. Kim has over 15 years of financial advisory services experience, providing a wide range of valuation and related financial services to middle-market companies to leading multinational companies. He has served a wide range of industries, including business services, consumer products, manufacturing and distribution, financial, healthcare and technology.
Mr. Kim has conducted valuations of business enterprise, equity, debt, derivative instruments, and intangible assets for a wide variety of objectives, such as mergers and acquisitions, litigation support, restructuring, tax purposes and financial reporting requirements. He has also provided financial advisory services to client companies for strategic planning purposes including buy-side and sell-side M&A, private placements of senior debt, and pre-acquisition purchase price allocation analysis.
Prior to joining Hudson Valuation Group, Mr. Kim was a director at CBIZ Valuation Group, providing wide range of valuation and related financial services to middle-market companies to leading multinational companies. Mr. Kim was Vice President of the Northeast Region at BDO Valuation LLC (formerly Trenwith Valuation), where he was an integral part of the development and implementation of the firm’s valuation practice. Mr. Kim was also a Senior Associate with Navigant Capital Advisors LLC and an Investment Banking Financial Analyst with KPMG Corporate Finance LLC.
Mr. Kim graduated with honors from Fox School of Business at Temple University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance.
Charles Stryker, CFA, is the managing director of the Northeast Region of Hudson Valuation Group. Mr. Stryker has been actively involved in valuations of business enterprises, securities and intangible assets for over 30 years. Mr. Stryker’s valuation projects have been used for the following purposes, among others: income, gift and estate taxes, board advisory opinions, corporate recapitalizations, transfer pricing analysis, employee stock ownership plans, purchase price allocations, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, net operating loss carryforwards, golden parachutes, S corporation conversions, going private transactions and accounting fair value determinations. Mr. Stryker has co-authored various articles dealing with lack of marketability discounts, ESOP’s, going-concern valuations, court cases, and golden parachutes.
He has served a wide range of industries, including business services, consumer products and apparel, healthcare and pharmaceutical, infrastructure and energy, manufacturing, metals and mining, professional services, real estate and construction, and retail and wholesale distribution.
Prior to joining Hudson Valuation Group, Mr. Stryker was a Managing Director at Capstone Advisory Group, LLC and Trenwith Valuation, LLC, the successor to BDO Seidman’s valuation group. Mr. Stryker was also employed by KPMG Peat Marwick as Managing Director in its Northeast Region Valuation Services practice and Standard Research Consultants as Director of Professional Services.
Mr. Stryker received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Harpur College of the State University of New York in 1974, and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Bernard M. Baruch College of the City University of New York in 1980. Mr. Stryker is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and a member of the CFA Institute, and the New York Society of Security Analysts (“NYSSA”). Mr. Stryker has also served on the Valuation Advisory Committee of the ESOP Association of America, three of its subcommittees, the AICPA Business Valuation and Appraisal Subcommittee, and the Student Committee of NYSSA.
